Here’s a couple of odds and ends I didn’t around to posting this past week. first up, Chris Jones spent six years making The Passenger and has a blog detailing everything about it. Next, this short below by Christophe Lopez-Huici is Not Safe for Work (but that’s okay since most of us have the day [...]
The Passenger is the result of about six years spent in a bedroom with a computer. Australian animator Chris Jones began the project back in 1998 as a proposed showreel piece, but then escalated into a full seven minute short film. And now it is available to watch. There is a DVD which includes a stack of special features, or you can check out the much lower resolution YouTube version .
After six years in the making and then screened at a number of international film festivals as well as getting selected to be part of the 2006 Academy Award Nominated Shorts theatrical tour, Australian animator Chris Jones' has uploaded a low-res version of his entirely self-funded and self-produced CG short The Passenger on Youtube. To pull off every single aspect of the production, from the music...
A good story is a powerful thing. It lulls you in. It insinuates its way into the back of the mind and abides there, even when you are not thinking about it. When you get to the end, there is a sense of completion. A journey has been finished. Parts that were separate have been brought together. The back brain can put it to one side and rest. All the above is true of reading a book or watching a movie...
I am proud to announce the publication of the latest in the 89-year tradition that is "The Best Plays Yearbook"--at one time known as the "Burns Mantle Best Plays," when Mr. Mantle was alive and running things. Thankfully Jeffrey Eric Jenkins has kept the tradition going strong. And even more thankfully, he has even engaged me to write for it! For the previous edition (2006-2007)...

I like Peter Bart's brief 11.19 profile of 34 year-old movie financier and Relativity Media honcho Ryan Kavanaugh more than the also-recent one by Chris Jones in Esquire. I prefer Bart's because he mentions that Kavanaugh is "a moderate drinker [whose] driving is sufficiently erratic to provoke occasional run-ins with the cops" and who "can joke about melodramatic relationships with...
The revival of “South Pacific,” above, seemed perfectly suited to Lincoln Center. Read Chris Jones' review from April 2008. At the top of Bartlett Sher’s jaw-dropping 2008 Lincoln Center revival of “South Pacific,” the orchestra pit is covered by a...

The new single, "One Door Away," has just been added to AirPlay Direct for radio download. In addition, a Jones original, entitled "What You Do," has also been made available, bringing...

Maybe New York chef David "Fist Bump" Chang was right? Scroll down, folks. credit: Chris Jones/SFist If you recall, Chang got all reality show contestant on San Francisco food, saying , "Fuckin' every restaurant in San Francisco is just serving figs on a plate. Do something with your food." We did. We added a pear.
I’ve heard of this phenomenon occurring in other stadia, with other players, but have never before witnessed it until this year at LP Field. Fans are literally on the edges of their seats every time Chris Johnson (or Chris Jones, as Keith Olberman called him) is about to touch the ball. When he does, most of those fans [...]
Peruse the cross results this year and the name Chris Jones (Champion Systems) pops up in the top 10 of the USGP and a few others races. Noteworthy was CrossVegas where Jones along with eventual... [[ This is a content summary only. Visit my website for full links, other content, and more! ]]
