The Ducati Althea Racing Team has made a decision with regard to the next season of competition in the World Superbike Championship. Team owner and General Director Genesio Bevilacqua has reached an agreement with Shane Byrne who will join the Ducati Althea Team in 2010.

Johnny Rea was the fastest rider in the final session of free practice ahead of this afternoon's Superpole. The Irishman was over a tenth quicker than Michel Fabrizio and Carlos Checa, with Shane Byrne another couple of tenths behind Checa.
