by Ryan Wilson Filed under: Golf Tiger Woods won the Australian Masters Sunday, and for his troubles he got a see-through globe and a mustard yellow jacket. And unlike John Daly 's appearance at the Australian Open last December, Woods made it through four rounds without having to smash anybody's camera . Instead, he chucked his driver into the gallery after a poor tee shot during Saturday's round....

The JBWere Australian Masters is now almost upon us and it is hard to recall a bigger build up to a golf tournament held in Australia. The Tiger frenzy has been so crazy even the Britney Spears fans must be wondering why their idol is not gracing the front page of the newspapers. There are concerns over the galleries surrounding Tiger this week. The incidents in China concerning cameras has some cause...

Sightings of the Tasmanian Tiger are reported in the Australian media from time to time and interest in the extinct marsupial peaks for a few days with plans to clone the animal from extracted DNA. The story comes and goes quicker than you can say "What's with Robert Allenby's putting?" and I wonder if the sudden interest in golf due to sightings of a different Tiger in Australia next week...

Anthony Kim beat Robert Allenby in the World Match Play Championship, 5-4. But the real story, according to ESPN, was that Allenby felt Kim was not giving him the customary tap-in short putts that are usually given during match play. If you remember from the President's Cup, Allenby called out AK as the "next John Daly" for partying until 4 a.m. the night before the singles matches. Whether...

by Shane Bacon Filed under: European Tour So much for Robert Allenby taking advantage of a rested Anthony Kim . Playing for the first time since the Presidents Cup -- where Allenby bashed Kim for partying too much and being a loose cannon and compared him to John Daly , even though the American smoked the Australian in the singles matches -- Kim again took Allenby down in Spain. This time, it was...

There has been some great golf articles written in the past few weeks (not just at Aussie Golfer) and I couldn't go on without highlighting some of them. Seve Ballesteros back on track after battling brain cancer. He wants to play in next years British Open . It seemed as though every man and his dog wanted to get stuck into Robert Allenby after his comments about Anthony Kim at the Presidents Cup....

Wow, Robert Allenby got a little bit testy after being demolished by Anthony Kim at the President's Cup. Allenby criticized AK for coming back to the hotel the night before at 4 a.m., a little "sideways." Allenby called AK a "loose cannon" and the "new John Daly." ( More ) Hmm... we don't know all the facts, but even if Allenby's allegations are true, they seem totally...

by Shane Bacon Filed under: Presidents Cup Nothing sucks worse than getting beat by a guy you think you should handle. In golf, that can happen in the worst of ways, like having an overweight 50-something take you out or some guy that looks like he's barely touched Golf Pride in his life on the first tee. Or, in the words of Robert Allenby , you could get beat by a guy 5 and 3 that "Get(s) home...

Four years earlier, Tiger Woods offered a memorable if uncommon image on the short par-4 alongside Lake Merced. Woods stood behind the green and forlornly put his hand to his forehead after John Daly missed a 3-foot putt in their American Express Championship...
