As if he needed to be told, the ghost of majors past was there alongside him the entire round yesterday like some brutal reminder. Sunday afternoon in a major championship is a test of nerve, a titanic examination of the mental strength of an athlete. Padraig Harrington did not need to play with Greg Norman yesterday to know how many great players have been there and failed.
