• Newcastle stutter in second home draw in a week • Preston and West Brom also endure goalless stalemate Newcastle United, again the centre of attention for the wrong reasons following the embarrassing revelations about Kevin Keegan's departure from the club, failed to give themselves the lift they wanted on the field. With their fans giving further voice to their disenchantment with the...

Cardiff 3 Bristol City 0 How good were the Bluebirds? I've never seen us dominate a Bristol City side like we did on Sunday. We completely outclassed them all over the pitch for long periods. The only bright spot for them was their keeper, Dean Gerken, who has come in for the excellent Basso. If it wasn't for him it could well have been four or five.

Sometimes, one has to wonder whether this sort of thing follows Neil Warnock around. In 2007, Sheffield United were relegated on the last day of the season after Carlos Tevez scored an unlikely winner for West Ham United at Old Trafford. In February 2008, he accused a linesman of celebrating a goal for Bristol City in a match against his Crystal Palace team. Last weekend, in what threatened to overshadow...

They say that lightning never strikes twice, but try telling that to a Crystal Palace fan. Almost 29 years ago, in September...
