Arsenal’s transfer activity is notoriously hard to predict, but I can tell you one thing with absolute certainty: we will not be paying £20m for Andrei Arshavin. There are major obstacles to overcome for Arsenal to sign any of the major figures mentioned in the media. The most likely scenario is Arsenal signing someone from another premiership club, but the choices a limited. Unless Ivan Gazidis is willing to part with a huge chunk of cash then the likes of Arteta and Alonso will not be playing home games at the Emirates.

Arsenal today announced that Ivan Gazidis will be joining the club from 1 January as Chief Executive. But the most startling news is that Lady Nina Bracewell-Smith owner of 15.95% of Arsenal has left the board with immediate effect.
