Roberto di Matteo, the former Chelsea and Italy midfielder, says he is hopeful of success after being named as the new manager of Milton Keynes Dons. Di Matteo, 38, replaces Paul Ince, after the former Manchester United midfielder left to become the manager of Blackburn Rovers having led the Dons to promotion.

Milton Keynes Dons will present Roberto Di Matteo as their new manager this morning. The former Chelsea and Lazio midfield player will replace Paul Ince, who left to join Blackburn Rovers after leading MK Dons to promotion from Coca-Cola League Two as champions last season. Di Matteo, 38, has been out of football since retiring in 2002 after breaking a leg.
