Harry Redknapp says Jermain Defoe is the best finisher in England. Put a jam roly poly and custard in front of yours truly and I'll prove him wrong. Nevertheless five goals in one game is impressive stuff. There are times when Defoe looks right up there with the best. His movement is brilliant, he's got that sheer greed you need as a striker (you can just see him in the school playground hanging around...

While taking her boys to play baseball in the park this afternoon, Victoria wore a nearly 100% identical outfit to the one she wore to the children's facility in Kentucky last week. The only item that differed was her denim jeans... everything else, the leather motorcylce jacket, combat boots, top, and hat, were all the same.

This is the epicenter of the coastal access debate. Permission to enter the 147-acre Greenwich Point has been an issue brought to the courts several times these past two decades. For those of you unfamiliar with the story, here is a brief history. In the 1990's, Stamford resident and law school student Brenden Leydon was denied entry to Greenwich Point while jogging. The town maintained a policy that...

We are back from our birthday Disney weekend getaway! And boy, colored me impressed! Disney sure knows how to do it. The hotel? GREAT! The bus service? PERFECT! The birthday buttons? WOW. Every person wished him well. And whenever possible, the staff went out of their way to make Merrick's day special. We had so much fun that I can't type it all. I was very surprised by how emotional it all was, for...

I'm just back from my exercise walk around the park which takes me about 55 minutes. Back home I'd have had to use the treadmill and today, I'd have been stepping off after about 5 minutes. I've had a chest infection (self diagnosis of course) for a few days and although it's clearing up slowly, after about 5 minutes of brisk walking, I felt like there was someone on my chest. Now if you've ever tried...

DONAL LENIHAN was the Irish team manager on the summer tour to Australia in 1999. He remembers this 20-year-old kid, who hadn’t yet lined out for Leinster, playing keep-up in a park opposite their Brisbane hotel. Lenihan recalled that the rookie was about to face centres Tim Horan and Danny Herbert in his first international game and he didn’t seem to have a care in the world.

Another day, another set of amusing stories emerging from our near neighbours. Both P*sh and the villagers seem to have been reading The art of communication according to CUFC given their latest faux pas. Gareth Baldwin has followed the lead of our dear ex-chairman Rolls , and decided to carry out all communication by text message, much to the chagrin of Tony Roach. It's not all bad news for Histon...

Much will be made of Sunday's terrible performance and rightly so, but the most important thing now is Charlton's riposte. This season was never going to be a walk in the park, even if our early-season form suggested otherwise, and we are going to have our setbacks; our level of success will be determined by how we deal with them. What needs to be on show against Southampton on Wednesday is commitment....

Once England had finished trying to paper over the cracks in a home defeat which saw them fail to score a point for the last 53 minutes, Rocky Elsom undermined all their positive spin with a dose of grim reality.

Decades back, few — if any — would oppose a plan to open a concrete plant in industrial Red Hook. But today, it's a different story . Residents of the quickly gentrifying neighborhood have petitioned and picketed in attempts to stop U.S. Concrete from opening a factory this month that they fear will scatter airborne particles "to the yellow-and-blue Ikea next door, heavily used baseball...

On October 23, the PEP Nighthawk Unit's Sergeant Domingo Sanchez and Officer Juan Barretto were performing a mobile patrol inside Central Park when they were flagged down by a man walking his dog in the vicinity of 100th Street and the West Drive. The gentleman was very anxious and stated that an individual wearing a brown hoodie had been following him in the park for several minutes. PEP officers...

Zola: he says it all... If you'd asked any West Ham fan for a point at the Stadium of Light before the match, most of us would have accepted: I certainly would have. And, given Sunderland's form, it isn't a bad result at all. I think we can see why Sunderland are sitting in 8th place with 17 points. However, after the fact, you've got feel that we threw 2 points away, or, rather, allowed Sunderland...
