Kevin Pietersen's 12th Test century helped England recover from a slump to reach 273-7 on the first day of the third and final Test against New Zealand on Thursday. Pietersen scored 115 for his first Test hundred at Trent Bridge. He added 161 with wicketkeeper Tim Ambrose to revive England after they slumped from 84-2 to 86-5 in the space of 13 balls.

Tim Ambrose seems to be doing one better than his predecessor. Not only is he playing bridesmaid to the top order quie nicely, he is not dropping too many either. Looks like he might last longer than Prior.
