Simon Katich opened the batting, after Phil Jaques was left out for the warm-up match against the Board President's XI side. So he will almost definitely open the batting with Hayden. Jason Krejza's performance outing (0/123 from 20 overs & 0/76 from 11 overs) was obviously a bit of a shock to the system. As a result of these two developments, I think Australia will go in for a 4-man quick bowling...

Simon Katich is set to take Phil Jaques' place in Australia's line-up for the first Test against India after the coach Tim Nielsen confirmed the pair had been in a "bat-off" in the West Indies this year.

At the break Australia had reached 163 for 0 with Jaques on 78 and Katich on 74 and a dispirited West Indies were running out of ideas.
