As always it is a fascinating contest in Australian domestic cricket. The six states love nothing better than to hammer each other, all in the pursuit of producing test cricketers for Australia. Sadly the international players won’t play that many games for their state. This is a shame because it’s always nice to see them go round. NSW have a feather in their cap even though they struggled...

Inspired by Purna at Cricket Minded , I thought I'd share some of the major revelations I have discovered by watching Cricket Australia TV over the past few months: 1. Mitchell Johnson can't use a microwave 2. Simon Katich now considers himself a New South Welshman 3. Nathan Bracken is as interesting as a tree trunk 4. Ricky Ponting still thinks he is the best fielder in the world 5. Nathan Hauritz...

Certainly Australian cricket is better. Look at the players that aren’t even playing: Phil Jaques, Test average 47; Brad Hodge, Test average 56; David Hussey, first-class average 55. That short list can quite easily be extended. The English system produces the odd exceptional player and that’s being generous - more likely it’s just chance and nothing to [...]

I have had this bat signed by a past years Lancashire team for around 2 years and was wondering the worth of it. I think il be lucky to get £20 for it but was wondering if anyone had any clue on what to value it as on Ebay. The bat is in perfect condition and is signed by the following players: Mark Chilton Stuart Law James Anderson Karl Brown Glen Chapple Dominic Cork Steven Croft Gareth Cross...

They came to the tournament saying that this time it would be different, but in the end it wasn't. Australia failed to win one of its two games at the Twenty20 World Cup and suffered the ignominy of not getting past the group stage. Despite their incredibly competitive nature, Twenty20 cricket and the Australian side have never quite clicked. Maybe it stems from Ricky Ponting and trickles its way down....
