With the Oklahoma City Thunder part of the NBA lineup, the Golden State Warriors' mascot appears to be a goner. Thunder is his name. Thunder has been part of the franchise for more than a decade and his likeness is featured on the team's primary logo, though the team doesn't use that image much anymore.

BEIJING There was no way Tamika Catchings was going to sit out this one. She could have begged off these Olympics and no one would have questioned her decision. She already had a gold medal from Athens in 2004. Coming back from a terrible Achilles injury, she could have politely demurred and said she needed time to recover.
