Jerry Manuel is vowing to change the Mets' selfish, stat-first ways. Manuel made that clear yesterday after the Mets formally lifted his tag as interim manager with a two-year contract that includes a club option for 2011. Speaking to reporters in an afternoon conference call, Manuel repeatedly emphasized he will preach a totally different mindset than the Mets are used to when spring training rolls...

One GM said he believes the Mets will make a big play for Manny Ramirez . It certainly seems like GM Omar Minaya is ready to finally try to land one of his favorite players -- though L.A. may be a better spot for Ramirez, who was raised in upper Manhattan but never liked the fishbowl existence in Boston that he would surely find in New York. The Mets have a group of players they feel will play much...

Compared to a lot of the other reactionary talk surrounding the team immediately after the season, I feel like the conservative Mets fan. Firstly, as others have pointed out, Jose Reyes, David Wright, and Carlos Beltran should stay for obvious reasons. They are a part of the illustrious Mets “core” and should go nowhere. Why? Because [...]

A Sarah Palin sports broadcast from 1988.It's the video from a Spring Training game played in Port St. Lucie Florida(About 50 miles from my house) between the New York Mets and LA Dodgers that got my attention. Let me quote the future GOP Vice-Presidential nominee- "This wave is kind of weak, but they're only in spring training remember." Making fun of Floridian New York Fans, which includes

The latest rumor is that the Mets are going to be in the hunt for free agent LHP C.C. Sabathia. Why? Are we trying to become the Yankees? Just what we need. Two pitchers with $20 million+ a year committed to them over at the minimum next five or six years with Santana, and seven [...]

Everyone knew the Brewers good luck streak could go on forever. First they come all the way back from 3.5 games back in the Wild Card when they fired Ned Yost, thanks to some woeful playing by the entire Mets team. They make the perfect decision for interim manager and Prince and Ryan helped out [...]
