By Joe Moore I was listening to James Brown sing “It’s A Man’s World” while trying to decide on adding to the gender bias thread stitched so well into TKZ posts throughout the previous week. But since my fellow blogmates so thoroughly covered the SinC vs. PW dust-up and the related Venus and Mars writing debate, I chose instead to talk about Balloon Boy. We all saw it on TV....

My eye on the sky The Moon in Libra trines a stellium of planets in Aquarius, gifting Gemini and calming things in general. We’ve still got a loose T-square in the fixed signs and Taurus takes the heat. Considering Taurus ruler Venus is none to happy in Scorpio, I would not be poking any bulls if I were you. Charlie Stross has a look at how little of the earth is habitable for humanity - and how is was often even less so as we go back in time - How habitable is the Earth? . We H. Sapiens Sapiens appear to be an infestation on this planet. After the slow-burning evolution of hominins in Africa, our ancestral populations erupted out into Eurasia in a geological eye-blink, spread into the Americas by way...

My eye on the sky The Virgo Moon is still supported by planets in Scorpio but now opposes Uranus in Pisces which makes things unpredictable. Venus and Mars are squared off, Saturn and Pluto are squared off and virtually everyone is embroiled in something. This includes the 14 people, still in denial. Mars is a bit of the planet that gets left out. It is deemed as too small to properly hold its atmosphere and thus is now difficult to work with. In fact the lack of a magnetic field supports my argument that the magnetic field of earth is possibly formed by a liquid carbon layer between the crust and the core. Mars is simply too small to form such a layer. For any of this to change it is necessary...

So back in July, I had a couple of days off, and that kid and I were trying to think up something to do. We talked about going for a bike ride and the idea of doing the Planet Trek came up. It's a pretty cool thing—a scale model of the solar system spread out over 23 miles of bike path. Every object has its own placard describing its stats and relative size. The sun is represented by a 24-foot...

" Desmoulins graph : green peaks = JEV most aligned days. The Sunspot cycle which averages 11 years is still a mystery, with no real conclusive science that has been put forward with any certainty on what controls the varying length of the Sunspot cycle. Previously in my Neptune/Uranus article we discussed the work of Desmoulins who has graphed the “most aligned days” of Jupiter, Earth...

After more than 70 years a large rare fungus collection has been returned to China from Cornell University. Curator Shu Chun Teng smuggled the collection out of the country at the start of World War II just as the Japanese were invading to keep it safe. He later suffered during the Cultural Revolution for "selling China's history." [ New York Times ] The US is from Mars and China is from...

Here I am showing the aspects made between Sun Venus and Mars to the other slower moving planets. You can see that yesterday the 5th November there were more soft aspects, and we know that the US market went up. Now look at the aspects for today the 6th November. We have more hards. So it is easier for the markets to go down. Now either they will follow the aspects, or they don't and their volume will...

The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) planned to launch a spacecraft to Venus sometime next year. This Venus Climate Orbiter “AKATSUKI” (or Planet-C), as its name implies, will explore the climate of Venus such as unveil the mysteries of wind on Venus and observe the atmospheric movement and cloud formation process. Ultimately, this mission aims [...]
