In spite of finishing sixth in his most recent start, Kentucky Derby winner Mine That Bird will make his next start in the $5 million Breeders' Cup Classic on Saturday, November 7 at Santa Anita. His owners and trainer came to the decision Monday morning.

Kentucky Derby winner Mine That Bird and champion mare Zenyatta return to the races Saturday afternoon at Santa Anita Park for the their final prep races leading to the Breeders' Cup in November. Santa Anita will also be the scene for the 26th Breeders' Cup World Championships on November6 and 7.

The winner of the Kentucky Derby always becomes the early favorite to walk away with the Eclipse Award for that year's champion three-year-old. As long as the Run for the Roses champ remains consistent in his ensuing starts, he will put his name along side recent award winners, Smarty Jones, Afleet Alex and Big Brown.
