The Lynx will have the No. 1 pick in the WNBA Draft next April. Minnesota, a non-playoff team the past five years, won the four-team draft lottery with New York's first-round pick. The Lynx obtained the Liberty's pick in a three-team trade last January.

For the fifth time in team history, the Monarchs will have the second overall pick of the 2010 WNBA draft. Coach and general manager John Whisenant just hopes to draft a player who will be as good as some of their prior No. 2 picks. None of his current or older players have any comment about the incident, neither has Donna Orender, President of the WNBA. The love for sports Von Kalmanovich had was noticeable; he was known for giving over the top pay checks, bonuses and gifts to his players. Two of the bigger names that were signed to play for the CSKA like Katie Douglas and Becky Hammon have moved on to other teams. The...

What makes the draft interesting is that Minnesota inherited New York's first round pick this year, giving the Lynx the outside chance to pick at #1 and #2 in 2010.
