By Don Paskini Labour activists gave him a standing ovation , journalists write admiringly of him, by all accounts he is a relatively effective minister - but the evidence suggests that far from being an asset, Peter Mandelson is a drag on Labour's popularity. For example, he was ranked 'least trustworthy' amongst leading politicians in a survey by Populus, and would be a less popular...

The Peter Mandelson Plan 1. Peter Mandelson is a politician. 2. Politicians are, on the whole, a bunch of self-serving, lying, power-crazed scum. 3. Peter Mandelson proposes that the families of those accused of violating copyright will have their access to the internet removed. Accused . Not proven. Not even supported with evidence. Merely, simply accused...

I’ve given the matter a great deal of thought all week, and I’m afraid I’ve decided that it’s no good putting Peter Mandelson in a prison. I’m afraid he will have to be tied to the front of a van and driven round the country until he isn’t alive any more.

Speculation is being spread across the Internet that David Miliband is going to head for the job of European Policy Minister and the rumour is also suggesting that Peter Mandelson might take his job in the by election. Personally my belief is that Mandelson can easily get into Parliament, if he resigns from his life peerage he could win the seat and become leader of the Labour...

Among many measures, one thing Mandelson wants is greater funding and more priority given to science and technology subjects. So…is it worth studying subjects in Arts and Humanities any more? The Chronicle says “Just Don’t Go”. Savvy Student says it “Isn’t Such...

ft.com/westminster has an intriguing theory about who might fight South Shields for Labour at the next election should David Miliband become the European Union’s foreign policy chief: Some killjoys will have spotted at least a dozen fatal flaws in this fantastic theory. But it is never wise to think about these scenarios too carefully. Why spoil the fun? Some stories are just too good to be fiction....

The proposal to introduce a US model of higher education into the UK answers a question of educational and economic policy Perhaps, in 1997, Peter Mandelson's proposals for reform of Higher Education would have seemed like radical, "hard choices". But today they look old-fashioned, like the unconscious reflexes of ideological dogma. Mandelson wants students to be treated...

Mandelson's vision of the universities of the future looks like old-fashioned spin – to divert attention from the really big issue Peter Mandelson wants a " consumer revolution " in higher education, with students given far more information on the actual value of their course. The silent driver is that fees have to go up: so much of his document ( Higher Ambitions...
