Let's see my American League team, the New York Yankees, the one that I have deep family ties to, is the best in baseball after winning the World Series again. Meanwhile, the hometown team, that I waited a generation for, the Washington Nationals, is the absolute worst. On the one hand, one team is the most hated (but maybe most loved too) and the other is the most maligned. Head to head, the Nats...

Riggleman could stay with Nationals - The Wash. Times Don Mattingly , bench coach of the Los Angeles Dodgers, has removed himself from consideration as next Washington Nationals manager. ... contenders. The prestige of managing the Dodgers is also much higher and well respected than the Nats at this point. Makes sense for Mattingly. In addition, in LA, Mattingly will some day work for an organization willing to do what it takes to win and spend what it takes. That has yet to be proven in Washington.

Well I'd think that if I got my NZ news from Idiot Savant, who says t he Nats are cancelling the invalids benefit unless people work . He said the invalids benefit " Its (sic) paid to terminal cancer patients, people with no limbs, and the totally blind ." and a lot of others too of course, but no he wouldn't tell you that. He says the Nats are forcing people off the benefit...

Let's take a look at some Nationals tidbits courtesy of the latest mailbag from MLB.com's Bill Ladson and Phil Wood of MASNsports.com: Mike MacDougal is currently the favorite to be the Nats' closer in 2010. In 52 appearances last season, the 32-year-old posted an ERA of 3.60 but had as many walks as he did strikeouts. However, the club could be looking to upgrade as Ladson hears that they are...
