While reading Kimberley Strassel's post on The Chicago Way (go, read it) at WSJ.com, I spotted this ad. Now, seeing an ad to buy bonds from an outfit that was paying its' obligations in scrip just struck me as wrong. A gut reaction. Now I know there's a legitimate need and reason for this. I'm curious to see what the interest rate will be...

... to wear very thin, and his insane Speaker of the House is going to get him diselected in 2012. Kimberley Strassel at the WSJ has a more long-term view. She calls this November poll a "tipping point:" Gerry Connolly? The freshman Democrat last year won the 11th congressional district, a Northern Virginia suburb of Washington that has trended blue. Mr. Obama cleaned up 57%...

Kimberley Strassel: 'We don't look at either of these gubernatorial races . . . as something that portends a lot for our legislative efforts," insisted White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs on Tuesday, as New Jersey and Virginia voters gave Democrats a thumping. Unfortunately for the White House, its opinion no longer counts. On Jan. 20, Barack Obama began a race against time....

Journal columnist Kimberley Strassel is petrified by the mafia-style brand of hardball politics that the Obama White House practices. (i.e. "The gang") Did you know he's from Chicago?! The idea that the right-wing media is trying to portray Obama has some sort of street-fighting ruthless pol strikes me as comical since it's the exact opposite of the impression most Americans...

Is now the American Way, apparently. Note this from Kimberley Strassel’s column, “The Chicago Way,” in today’s Wall Street Journal: They pull a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue. That’s the Chicago way. – Jim Malone, The Untouchables When [...]

Kimberley Strassel: "One thing I can tell you: They can go out and chase me and chase the Chamber and put stuff in the newspaper. It only . . . drives more and more support. . . . You think we are going to blink because a couple of people are out shooting at us? Tell 'em to put their damn helmets on." Them's fighting words, all the more so when delivered in the feisty, New York...

Kimberley Strassel: ... What makes these efforts notable is that they are not the lashing out of a frustrated political operation. They are calculated campaigns, designed to create bogeymen, to divide the opposition, to frighten players into compliance. The White House sees a once-in-a-generation opportunity on health care and climate. It is obsessed with winning these near-term battles,...

The Chicago Way, the Obamabots latest target. Kimberley Strassel , WSJ. Good mob quotes interspersed. Obama administration search and destroy. Charles Krauthammer . Engaging in debate encourages checks and balances. I should hope so. Comrade Anita is pretty hard to take. Will our President Barack Obama find the better angels of his nature ?

Right now, there is no question that labor unions have been active in the Virginia statewide races this year. Creigh Deeds has received numerous contributions from the AFSCME , SEIU , AFL-CIO , and other labor unions. With these contributions, one has to wonder if big labor has the capacity to spoil Creigh Deeds’ chances to become Governor. Kimberley Strassel of The Wall Street Journal...

Kimberley Strassel: Rent-Seekers Inc. - WSJ.com It isn't often an energy company (of all things) gets to present itself as an environmental crusader, cozy up to Washington rulemakers, buy political protection, and pad its bottom line—all in one neat little announcement. ... upon the outcome of the gubernatorial contests here and in the Garden State. The Journal’s Kimberley Strassel believes: The Virginian’s problem is that [Creigh Deeds is] a little too important to party leaders. The Obama White House isn’t half as worried about what Virginia means for next year’s elections as it is what Virginia means for this year’s health...

The WSJ’s editorial page has a column this morning by one of my favorite columnists, Kimberley Strassel. She’s got a great take on how the national Democratic agenda is hurting Creigh Deeds, and how the gubernatorial election is a barometer of how the country is reacting to the Washington Democrats’ agenda. She points out, as the RPV [...]
