... against LHP, so there’s room to allow some playing time to Jeremy Hermida and he could spell J.D. Drew and Jacoby Ellsbury as well, thanks to his defensive ability.

... . Theo, you really ought to think about it. What we've learned in the offseason is how great J.D. Drew really is (I thought his season more than passable, although the Win Shares/dollar might be less so). If Win Shares mean something, then we should acknowledge that Drew was an estimated SIXTH in the AL at his position . We found out that Rocco Baldelli will seek employment...

... It's clear the free agent options are limited. Hermida is a good 4th outfielder option, but with J.D. Drew and his high maintenance health I don't think Red Sox nation wants another health issue in the outfield. Here's to hoping Jason Bay takes what the Red Sox offer him because the 2010 team has all the issues ready to happen like 2005 and 2006 did.

... Sox in the production categories, but if David Ortiz can rediscover his stroke and Mike Lowell and JD Drew can put together healthy seasons, the Sox could still score 850-900 runs. Damon was a solid No. 2 batter this season and could enable the Sox to bump Pedroia down in the order. If you like Pedey in the No. 2 spot, you could have Damon lead off and move Ellsbury to the bottom of the...
