Eighty-million. More than any other statistic that Elton Brand has accumulated over the course of his nine-plus years in the NBA -- the two All-Star appearances, the 6,611 rebounds, the 1,352 blocks -- nothing has come to define the Sixers forward this season like the $80 million, five-year contract he signed in the summer of 2008 to leave the Clippers and, presumably, boost Philadelphia...

Just a couple of weeks ago things did not seem to be going in a positive direction for veteran big man Elton Brand who is now in his second year of a five year contract with the Philadelphia 76ers for a reported sum of $80 million. There was a buzz generating from Philadelphia that the [...]

Perhaps all Elton Brand needed was a little time. Time to fully recover from the injuries he has suffered the past two seasons and time on the basketball court to rediscover his game - the one that produced 20 points and 10 rebounds for nine seasons and enticed the 76ers to sign him before last season for 5 years and $80 million.

... on the numbers, is the bad start on the court. The 76ers have played ugly basketball so far. With Elton Brand back, Philadelphia has struggled on offense. Before the season opener, I thought Eddie Jordan could be the one to find a way to fit Brand on the system. I was wrong. More so than ever, they seem conflicted between going inside with Brand and spreading the floor...

... as promising 76er point guard Louis Williams will miss eight weeks with a broken jaw. With Elton Brand also hobbling around, the Sixers are rumored to be in the market for a guy who can score and play the point; hmmm…wonder what The Answer to that riddle might be? Yep, Allen Iverson is reportedly close to inking a deal with his old team, and given Philly’s depleted roster, he could...

... part about the fourth quarter was that Philadelphia's two highest-paid players, Andre Iguodala and Elton Brand , were not in the game. It was a dash of Louis Williams and Jrue Holiday that nearly won Philadelphia the game. That's ... well ... kind of sad. This game should never have been close enough where an open Williams three-pointer has the potential to decide the game. Beyond...

This was in addition to missing guard Lou Williams (fractured jaw) and forward Marreese Speights, who is out until January with a torn medial collateral ligament in his left knee. Jason Smith started...

... Grizzlies team was on the roster for that last win. Lou Williams scored a career-high 31 points, Elton Brand added 22 and Andre Iguodala had 15 for the Sixers (5-7). With the Grizzlies leading 98-95, Gay connected on a 17-foot jumper from the right wing with a second remaining on the shot clock to seal the victory. Gay scored 12 points in the fourth quarter on 5-of-7 shooting and

They say that a wounded animal is at it’s most dangerous state and that certainly applied to the Philadelphia 76ers as they faced the Boston Celtics Wednesday night at the “New Garden.“ The Sixers were without two of their starters guard Louis Williams and forward Elton Brand yet still were within one point of Boston [...]

... stopped shooting threes, which has turned him in to a statistical beast on both ends of the floor. Elton Brand is listed as a game-time decision, again, I expect the team to err on the side of caution, if they didn't come out and say he's better, I doubt he'll play. I believe Holiday is getting the start at the point again, here's an update from Marc Stein via Twitter (when he was...

Wishing you all a wonderful Thanksgiving! Today I am thankful for each of you in my Celtics family. My prediction no Lou Williams possibly no Elton Brand 76ers go down hard to the Celtics.. All in all, we're just shooting bricks for John Wall. You know...I have the feeling this is a night for a "moral" victory. Not an actual win mind you, but a loss that I'm sure everyone in...

... viable option at the point on his bench. Jrue shouldn't have to be looking over his shoulder. Elton Brand is listed as a game time decision with a tight hammy, last night I said I thought he'd miss the game, I'm not sure if Lou's absence changes that. If it's up to him, I expect him to be on the floor. If it's not his decision, it would probably be a good idea to give him the night...
