... another expiring contract that could help them next summer in the free-agent shopping market? Joe Dumars shot down the suspicions, insisting there are no deals looming. He figures that the Pistons already have enough new faces. But Dumars also must understand that one of the consequences of transition is the perception of a revolving door in the Pistons’ locker room.”

by Tim Povtak Filed under: Pistons ORLANDO -- Pistons general manager Joe Dumars signed broken-down Ben Wallace this summer to be a figure-head, to serve as a low-budget example for his young, talented guys to see where hard work could take them. Dumars never expected this kind of start. Wallace, 35, is one of the biggest and most pleasant surprises of this young season. In the first...

... and Hamilton and Prince were both out injured. What's more, the replacements Pistons executive Joe Dumars has brought in are all players other NBA teams have passed over -- Ben Gordon couldn't get the money he wanted from Chicago, Ben Wallace is three years into being considered washed up, and the Bucks didn't make an offer to Charlie Villanueva when he was a free agent. Even their coach,...

... Prince didn’t dress with a back injury the past two games, but does anybody really think Joe Dumars would tell Prince – whom he knows views his consecutive-games streak as a badge of honor – to sit out because he has a potential trade in the works? Really? Do you think Dumars would really be worried that Prince, after playing seven straight years without missing a game due to injury,...
