Hello all! Today I received this signed photo which I had ordered from Adam West’s website: I placed the order on the 24th October, was sent on the 28th, and got to me today (10th November). So considering it was sent from the US to the UK the delivery was pretty quick! As soon as I noticed [...]
... fun. And there ain't nothing more gloriously camp than the 1960's Batman series with Adam West and BurtWard. Right from the blinking red phone to the cameo-filled climb up the side of a building, to the biff-boom-bang fights, this is an awesome ride, chum. And it helps to remember that Spidey wasn't even a comic book back when this first came out.Image: A scene from Batman Many years...
... accidentally wrecked it? "Holy Hacking"? Has Jayna become the Smallville universe's BurtWard? I also dug the Corbin reference to the beginning of the season. It's nice when continuity is not ignored. I loved the irony of Clark's statement "I am not a brand." It's about time Lois started seeing a shrink. I figured she'd be seeing one even if there were no future...
Batman first appeared in Detective Comics in 1939 and was little more than detective who wore a superhero costume. Batman's powers evolved along with the character through the years, eventually ending up on prime-time tv on the ultra-campy BATMAN (1966) tv show starring Adam West and BurtWard. The popularity of this show eventually led to the creation of the first animated Batman series,...
... “Robin” wore on TV’s Batman exposed more of his face on-camera, which meant extra work for actor BurtWard. Batman’s cowl was concealing enough that a stuntman could easily step in for Adam West during vigorous fight scenes. But Burt had to roll with most of the punches thrown his way, as a stunt double would be immediately noticeable without a lot of extra (read: expensive)...
A while back I posted some photos on Facebook from a childhood visit with BurtWard, Robin from the 60's Batman TV show. He'd come to town to make an appearance and sign autographs. I'd shared that my autographed photo I'd gotten that day had...... mysteriously disappeared. My sister and brother both still had theirs, but mine was gone. After I posted that, I decided to see if I could...
... Jim Backus, and Natalie Shafer. The New Adventures Of Batman has both Adam West and Boy Wonder BurtWard intoning their animated alter-egos.The strangest aspect of all though has to be the new “socially conscious” trend that took place in the early '70s cartoons. As a kid, I had no idea of the messages in some of these, but as an adult I find the indoctrination somewhat startling....
Filed under: Vintage Most days, I - like most nerds - wake up disappointed by two facts: 1. I'm not as awesome as Adam West and 2. I'm not as awesome as BurtWard. Well now, thanks to Charity Buzz, nerds everywhere finally have a glimmer of hope to change all that: ... Read more Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments
... thing I'd watch with my mom, where she would keep telling me how she met both Adam West and BurtWard at the premiere in New York City. Years later, hearing about the very sexual nature of those two, switching partners like they were sweatpants, I asked my mom if she was a conquest in their sexual escapades. Then she reminded me she was 8 at that time. And the other, a Tim Burton...
