BillyTalent Southampton Guildhall October 29th A packed crowd at the Guildhall were well warmed up by the excellent support for BillyTalent, Cancer Bats satisfied the headbangers in the audience and although not my cup of tea, they did appear to bring a lot of fans along with them. Canterbury are among my favourite bands who [...]
Ian D'Sa and Aaron Solowoniuk of Canadian punk-rock outfit, BillyTalent sat down with Alter The Press! prior to their headlining show at London's Brixton Academy. The guys spoke to ATP! about their success in Germany, their latest release 'BillyTalent III', the band not cracking the US market, touring plans for the next year and more. Alter The Press: How does it feel...
I went to see BillyTalent the other night. Previously I had thought they were quite good, having seen them live I can now say that they are not 'quite good', that they are in fact, fan-fucking-tastic. To the extent that I no longer consider the CD I have to do them justice, it's just not as good. They exploded onto the stage to a song I didn't know (I only have the 2nd of their 3 albums),...
Last night I saw BillyTalent for the 4th time, and this was the first time it was one of their headline shows. After a few mess ups on my part regarding the train tickets we eventually arrived at Brixton Academy as the doors were opened. We got in and headed down towards the front, past the mental rail in the middle of the dreadful sloped floor. Pretty soon Canterbury took to the stage....
... forward means those who manage to do just that should be hailed as idols with instruments. Enter BILLYTALENT . They are four albums into their career but the Canadian quartet's 2003 self-titled second record, in particular, is a listen that never fails to reward. It's intelligent, hurtles along at a breakneck pace and contains their most memorable choruses - take your pick from Try...
Due to illness, BillyTalent have been forced to postpone the first two shows in Leeds and Nottingham on their UK tour starting next week. The band made the following statement: "We regret to inform you that the first two UK shows will be postponed due to a band member being ill. The UK tour will now commence on Wednesday, October 21st at the Sheffield Academy. The Leeds and Nottingham...
... they did 300 odd shows a year for a couple years and that to me is immense and truly inspiring. BillyTalent show a lot of love to their fans and make great music and Story of the Year put on the best live show I’ve ever seen. Rage Against The Machine are my biggest inspiration, apart from making incredible music, they were and will always be super cool. How have they influenced...
Cancer Bats + The Computers + Drowned In Flames + Teen Zu Monday 7 December 2009 @ Fibbers The Cancer Bats have come to destroy. Fueled by a burning desire to rage harder, play louder and have more fun than any other band, Cancer Bats mix hardcore, southern metal and punk rock into a lethal rock and roll explosion. Currently on tour with BillyTalent the boys have kindly offered their...
... bass line and determined, distorted guitar riffs. Whilst this song sports a sound similar to BillyTalent, a couple of tracks in and you’re confronted with ‘Diver’ – a song subtly resembling a more wistful, Explosions In The Sky, post-rock leaning. That is, of course, before sharply mutating into the catchy, hook-ridden chorus. It took a while to notice the...
... he produced for their new album. His work always reminds me of the artist who did the artwork for BillyTalent's album, or the person who did the illustratives for A Series of Unfortunate Events. Pretty rad to say the least! Gus and Robbie and Nina turned up too which was lovely. Had a nice time with them, Robbie tried to teach me Russian, they're learning German on the sly so they...

My friend Ollie described it perfectly when they were playing "these guys are killing it!", I couldn't have said it better myself. Hail destroyerrrrrrrrrrr! xo
