Dhaka Begum Khaleda Zia, the former Prime Minister of Bangladesh, accepted a heavy defeat in the general election, despite alleging that the vote was rigged. Her Bangladesh Nationalist Party won 29 seats of a possible 300. The Awami League, led by Sheikh Hasina Wajed, won 230.
