I bought this vacuum 14 mos ago. I share many of the previous reviewers statements. It is VERY heavy and I did not like carrying it up and down the steps. It did clean very well though and the tools were also very useful. The handle release was a problem for me, too. But could overlook these issues for the performance. Before getting this product we had a disposable filter. I like having something I can wash and reuse. Two weeks after getting this filter I put the vacuum bag in wrong and had dust all over inside the vacuum. What a huge mess. I washed the filter and couldn't believe all the junk that came out. It was great being able to just put it back into the vacuum after it was dry and not have to worry about...
