This is the latest in a series on the use of the race card for political gain: I almost had forgotten about Jesse Jackson. But he's still out there, and still the master race card player : “We even have blacks voting against the healthcare bill,” Jackson said at a reception Wednesday night. “You can’t vote against healthcare and call yourself a black man.” Short, to the...

During the Presidential election campaign, President Obama promised no new taxes on the middle class. He defined that as people earning less than $250,000. Americans for Tax Reform has their list of the tax provisions in the Senate Health Care Bill. Many of these tax provisions would impact the middle class: - Individual Mandate Tax; - Excise Tax on Comprehensive Health Insurance (would likely tax...

I bubbled the Mookie. Standard. From this point forward I will not get to the final table with less than 10K. Like I said yesterday..."playing the Mookie is like sticking your junk into a blender". I quote myself therefore I am. I did however have lots of fun at the micro-limit 7-game table. I one outer'd Numb on the river on a limit HE hand....classic. In all fairness I had Aces so you can't...

What can we say about Mr. Paul Ellis? The gentleman wears many hats (husband, father, website owner, internet radio host, and die-hard poker player to name a few) and excels at all of them. He is a driving force among poker players and their efforts in cancer research. To say Mr. Ellis steps [...]

This is my favorite stack of all time. I'll try to explain. The chip denominations are $25, $10, $5, and $1 from left to right. I also had some bills as you can see. This poker night was a night like no other and will most likely never be reproduced for as long as I play. Early on, I lost my first buy-in of $300 with KK to AA on a 9-high flop. Semi-cooler, but it happens. The guy playing AA never re-raised...

22 days. (this clock will stop once I can't count anymore and I have the G-Vegas gang surrounding me at the Pai Gow tables with an icy glare from Slavka the long legged former Ms. Kyiv after I turn over my fourth straight bonus hand) We may love our double fried cheese curds wrapped in a pork chop over syrup, but Minnesota ranks as the 6th healthiest state in the union according to Forbes . Busted about an hour into the day, which is about 55 minutes later than I expected. I actually nearly doubled up without a showdown, which is always fun, then lost it all back when A8 in the SB outflopped my QQ in the BB. He probably should have shoved preflop and busted me, so I guess I was "fortunate" to only lose 10k. A discussion arose at my table among me and a couple other young players....
