The most anticipating collection for me on fashion week- Hermes RTW Spring 2010 has finally debuted! According to style.com, tennis, you may have guessed, was Jean Paul Gaultier’s theme, and he delivered like a pro to give a topspin to Hermès‘ timeless classics. Pictures above from the collection, models carrying a matching Kelly ball bag. [...]

The French capital enjoyed its hottest date with fashion from the 30th of September to the 8th of October. The latest spring-summer 2010 trends filled catwalks at Paris Fashion Week recently, including clothes by famous brands like Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Valentino, Christian Dior and Jean Paul Gaultier.

After a successful Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week, it was time to hop over to Europe for Paris Fashion Week. We grabbed some fabulous dresses from Margi Kent and some amazing Tuleste Market jewelry and got styled by New York Girl Style for Venexiana and AZ Araujo and headed over to the City of Lights. [...]

Photographer: Christopher Dadey Marko Mitanovski showed his SS10 collection as part of Vauxhall Fashion Scout's 'One to Watch' show at London Fashion Week last month. I am no drama queen (honest), but I have fallen in love with Marko's theatrical Tudor references and elaborate styling, which is what I imagine a Gareth Pugh/Jean Paul Gaultier/Alexander McQueen baby might look like! In case you have previously considered the idea of wearing a $10,000 purse as a gym bag and ruled it out, Hermes would apparently like you to rethink that decision. Jean Paul Gaultier’s entire Hermes Spring 2010 collection was a riff on country…

The enormous afro wigs. The monogrammed bags. The kaleidoscope of patterns and textures and multiple unrelated references. These are the elements Louis Vuitton designer Marc Jacobs knew would play to the camera, or more specifically, the live video stream he sent out on Facebook on the last day of Paris Fashion Week.

Just as the Paris Fashion Week collections look a bit like New York Fashion Week on steroids, so, too, do the celebrity ensembles, which step up from being merely eye-catching to inducing whiplash. Case in point: Rihanna. True, the singer is not known for sartorial restraint, nor a pathological addiction to pants. But in Paris she was relentlessly audacious, taking the concept of basic black and cheekily...

Ladies and gentlemen of the bloggery, you may or may not have been witness to my most recent (and I think only) experiment with temporary tattoos . They were lovely, they were colorful, they were of well-illustrated aquatic creatures. They were absolutely not like what showed up during this just-passed fashion month. Rodarte tribal crop circles, drawn with sharpie. Jean Paul Gaultier gothic facial...

Paris fashion week, showcasing SS10 rtw collections, has just finished. I was very much looking forward to seeing what the designers would come up with, espcially Dior, after seeing it's couture AW09 collection which was a complete 1950s lingerie fest. The ready to wear collections tend to be a lot more wearable and commercial than the couture collections but Dior again featured a lot of lingerie...

From corsets to hug your curves to saucy shoes, the French catwalks were dripping with raunch I have spent the last week watching the Paris catwalk shows and reading Hilary Mantel's Wolf Hall. You'd think that would be a healthy contrast: a fashion week bubble of skinny girls sipping champagne on the one hand, 650 weighty pages of goblet-thumping Tudor skulduggery on the other. That's what I expected....
