Jac leaves the Roberto Cavalli show in Milan Jac is already a huge force both on and off the runway. While only participating in runway shows in New York and Milan, she walked in nearly every key show in both cities (33 total shows): from Marc Jacobs and Oscar de la Renta in New York to Prada and Gucci in Milan -- among the many. She also managed to really solidify her presence as a strong show Opener...

Krakoff: Soon to be household name? Hear that? It's the sound of the hype machine shifting into third gear. Already there's been a lot of buzz around the forthcoming eponymous new line by Coach designer and well-regarded gentleman Reed Krakoff . Across the board this New York Fashion Week, designers lightened up the mood (with the notable exceptions of Rodarte and Vera Wang). Dresses were shorter, softer, more feminine. The colors were brighter; the patterns were dizzying. And every outfit had piles of embellishments, from sequins to ruffles to feathers to pearls. Texture is officially in. But the feel is infinitely more romantic and upbeat...

I saw Swedish sensation Frida at New York Fashion Week wearing another version of a brown blazer but wasn't able to get a clean shot. At least here in London I was able to grab a shot that shows her Dr. Martens, long socks over tights, and another one of her brown blazers. Yes, I'd guess she likes brown blazers :) She's having a massively successful season so far including opening New York's Richard...

Brown Freshman Emma Watson traveled from Rhode Island to London for the Burberry Spring 2010 presentation during London Fashion Week. Burberry’s Fall 2009 campaign girl traded her air miles for a custom-made Burberry Prorsum Spring 2010 golden dress. I was reading the Buyers Laud New York Fashion Shows article in WWD today. I’m always interested in what the buyers/retailers think of the collections. For the last few seasons I’ve been posting about Barbara Atkin’s feelings on the show. Spring 2010 is no exception. Barbara Atkin, vice president of fashion direction at [...]

This Fashion Week broke new fresh faces and showed us some tried-and-true favorites. Patricia Van Der Vliet, Mirte Maas, and Anastasia Kuznetsova were the top three newbies that found ground on some of New York's premier runways. We saw the much-anticipated return of Iselin Steiro when she opened for rag & bone . Karmen Pedaru and Tao Okamoto's stars continued to rise as they opened Proenza Schouler...

Several designers at New York Fashion Week, faced with a grim national mood, looked for a solution far, far away. Vacation destinations -- both exotic and less so -- were the inspiration for countless collections for spring 2010.

1. Nanette Lepore: I love blue and orange! I also love army green, and something that combines the three, especially in stripes and florals, definitely floats my boat, although the length of that pants/leggings is terrible. The jacket would be cool by itself, what with the puffy sleeves/severe color and all, but with that merino-glass-esque pattern, it's super. 2. Oscar de La Renta I won't lie. Occasionally,...

Can you tell I'm home sick today? Sigh -- I was hit hard and suddenly with the fashion week flu. About the only thing I'm good for is lying in bed and surfing the internet. Which brings me to... Oscar de la Renta might not be one of fashion's more daring, directional designers, but season after season, he turns out some truly beautiful, elegant stuff.
