As relaxes in the Hamptons (like Helmut Lang did when he left his name-sake label), or tends to his garden (a la Jil Sander), there must be interviews galore at the Maison MM. After all when Renzo Russo, creator of Diesel and majority shareholder of Margiela, announced after Paris Fashion Week earlier this month that Martin was no longer at the design helm of the brand (although...

REPLACING AN ENIGMA Who's Going to Take Over Maison Martin Margiela's Duties? (New York, NY/Paris) Jil leaving Jil Sander, Helmut leaving Helmut Lang, Veronica Webb leaving Tim Gunn's Guide to Style--- all signs of imminent destruction. Well after much speculation, affirmation from ownership and a questionable showing during Paris's Spring 2010 fashion week, it is no secret Maison Martin Margiela...

It was a busy weekend for Naomi Campbell who strutted her stuff on the catwalk at Paris Fashion Week just hours before jetting in to London to attend Simon Cowell’s extravagant 50th birthday bash last night. The supermodel looked uber-glamorous on the runway when she made a surprise guest appearance during Russian designer Igor Chapurin's show [...]

Welcome to London Fashion Week! After religiously checking the weather for days before my departure, this fashionista has been blessed with dry weather and sunshine—shocking for this city. No major Anna Wintour sightings yet—although she is reported to be here covering the shows for the 25th anniversary of the British Fashion Council. I did spy her [...]

1. Helmut Lang: That is one intense denim look. The denim itself looks so soft, and I adore the panels on the skirt. More denim, but darker and subtler. I love this look as well, and those paneled leggings are just amazing. This T-shirt is super duper. The print reminds me of a Degas landscape, and it goes perfectly with the simple pants, though I think that it'd look amazing with some other b/w prints...

Now that NYFW is just about wrapped up, I thought I'd pick a few of my fave, more wearable looks for spring. For the most part, I was missing the "WOAH, did I really just see that?" factor which I will inevitably have to hold my breath for until London Fashion Week kicks into gear. I spied a lot of white, sheer, asymmetric tops and dresses, and more cut-outs....I guess not a whole lot of...

If you've been following the FW blog this week, you know that I've been up at NY fashion week, and seen some pretty awesome (and, admittedly, a few awful) things. Of course, my camera is ever-present; these are some of my favorite snaps from the week's adventures. Also! Before I forget! Don't miss the Big Announcement about FW's Anniversary Party , because it's going to be awesome and we'll be giving...

Why is it that in midst of New York Fashion Week I'm most drawn to this lookbook image from A Friend by AF Vandevorst SS10 line? OK, Calvin Klein hasn't been showed yet, Helmut Lang was great and I liked Max Azria somehow, especially cause they had xx as the soundtrack. Everything is just so awfully nice and repetitive and 20 years ago...don't know, this picture feels human. And hey people from Finland...

Last September, on the final day of Fashion Week, Jen Kao presented her very conceptual take on fall 2009: a black-heavy collection of jersey tops, paneled dresses, and a breathtaking, sweeping, floor-length sequin gown. We caught up with Kao at her studio in NYC to talk about her favorite designers, her mix-and-match personal style, and her great love of anything that sparkles. What’s the inspiration...

As an alternative to the hectic pace of Paris Fashion Week Viktor and Rolf chose, this season, to again say 'NO' - no to the show, that is, opting instead to show their wares online at www.viktor-rolf.com. V&R are, of course, no the first to do this - Helmut Lang... [ more ]
