What, you thought I was talking about this year’s Super Bowl? No, I’m talking about Len Dawson, the MVP of Super Bowl IV, who took his Kansas City Chiefs to a 23-7 win over the Minnesota Vikings and, for his efforts, won a new 1970 Dodge Challenger. Liz Schmitt dug this 40-year-old treasure out of [...]

http://techcrunch.com/2010/02/08/superbowl-ads-scored-web/ I'll tell you my call - I thought the commercials were less than spectacular this year, and again Godady plays the tired old Dana Patrick card. Enough with the T and A ads Godaddy. Another theme this year - commercials where men are jerks - case in point the Dodge Charger ad.... The game however was better than I thought so I guess it all works...

Super Bowl Sunday is over, but the advertisements live on around the internet. The misogyny certainly rolled ; my fav is Dodge Charger's Man's Last Stand, which you can read a great Feministing commentary summing up. But since we've been chattering about Focus on the Family's Tim Tebow ad for a while now, I'll weigh in on that (hopefully) one last time. The ad was surprisingly cutesy and innocuous...

Chrysler is showing off their infotainment features on the 2010 "Connected" Grand Caravan at the 2010 Chicago Auto Show (which starts later this week). The vehicle is a veritable swiss army knife of entertainment technology, with FLO TV, Sirius Satellite Radio, Sirius Backseat TV and Uconnect Web. The latter of which transforms the minivan into a traveling WiFi hotspot....

Metafilter talks Super Bowl ads : One of these days there's going to be a Bud Light or Dodge Charger ad that is so fucking similar to A Handmaid's Tale that we won't be able to tell if it was done ironically or not. Wait in Republic of Gilead there's cool, refreshing Bud Light served out of vending machines? You use a Nokia phone to report women who are fertile but do not register? Two guys kissing...

It seems a little short-sighted and naive to think that men have become a little too predictable...

The poor-little-me ad for Dodge Charger during the Superbowl was, essentially, ineffable. But I'll give it a shot anyway: The commercial presumes and who am I to say the marketers are wrong that the American male is a brow-beaten, miserable, helpless, pussy-whipped drudge. The only recourse left for the poor wretch his last, desperate chance at manhood is to take out a...

I'll be the first to admit that, on the surface, the controversial Focus on the Family-sponsored Tim and Pam Tebow ads shown during last night's Super Bowl were two of the least offensive in a series of ludicrously sexist spots. I expect as for beer, featuring ample bosoms, during the biggest game of the year, but I had no idea that we were living in a world of men so whipped into submission by their...

From Fiat’s plans for Chrysler , Dodge, and Jeep that were announced earlier in the week, you may have noticed that Ram was left out. The Ram brand had been reserved for Chrysler Co.’s truck offerings but now, an initiative is reportedly in the works that would promote the Ram as a standalone brand, focusing exclusively on vans, SUVs, commercial vehicles, and pickups.
