I never thought I’d see this day come. But it has. An American auto manufacturer finally realized that selling the same car under two makes (or brands) does not make sense. Take the Dodge Caravan and Chrysler Town and Country. The two minivans are identical with minor trim-level differences. Who are they fooling? I’ve [...]

Well, here you have it folks: VW's Town and Country, er, Grand Caravan, er, Routan... Power comes from a 197 hp 3.6L V6 or a 251 hp 4.0 V6. The tranny is a 6-speed automatic. Biggest selling point? 13 cupholders! The Chrysler Town and Country and Grand Caravan, which the Routan is based upon, are pictured at the right for reference. If you look closely, not all the panels carry over from the Chrysler...

General Motors and Ford are quitting minivans in favor of crossovers, but Chrysler , the company that invented the modern minivan, is bringing out its fifth generation of the family favorites. Chrysler's outgoing vans ushered in fold-into-the-floor second-row seat stowage (dubbed Stow 'n Go) - a meaningful advantage, particularly for those who regularly carry large pieces of cargo. Other than that,...

You can get a back-seat TV that shows live Sirius video in Chrysler Town and Country minivans. The product started as a conceptual demo at CES in 2003, but Chrysler pushed Sirius to make it into a real product. It involved creating a new modulation technique. Chrysler is producing twenty percent of the Town and [...]
