We saw the Citroen Hypnos Hybrid in a sneak reveal a few weeks back and were frankly concerned about the mental health of the designers. In person, the Hypnos is a little less groundbreaking and a lot more crossover. The outside is like a Francofied Chrysler Pacifica, while the interior is...you know, different. It's still trippy as hell, but the flowing neon seating motifs of the concept renderings...

A teenager thought he was giving an acquaintance a lift Thursday, but instead the passenger stole his car from him at gunpoint, St. Petersburg police said. The 2007 blue Chrysler Pacifica was later recovered, but the carjacker, whose identity remains unknown, has not been arrested, St. Petersburg police spokesman George Kajtsa said.

What you're looking at above is the 2010 Hyundai Portico, a large crossover in the mold of the Chrysler Pacifica or Toyota Venza, based on the Portico Concept revealed at the 2005 Chicago Auto Show. Jalopnik reader John grabbed these photos of the Hyundai testing in the high altitudes of Big Bear Lake, California. We're expecting the Portico to be powered by a V6 matched to a six-speed transmission,...

Beware the Ides of March. By now, Chrysler's Pacifica Design Center in Carlsbad, CA should be a warren of ghost-cubicles, with perhaps a few shreds of jettisoned sketches for futurecars scattered on the industrial carpeting, reduced to janitorial found art. The Pentastar has shut it down and concentrated "blue sky" conceptualizing under the gray skies of Detroit. The studio, which focused on advanced...

Mistakes can become learning opportunities. Take the Chrysler Pacifica. Chrysler’s first crossover had the makings of something good. Engineered in a corporate environment flush with optimism after the Daimler purchase, the Pacifica hit the road with loads of old Mercedes E-class parts in its bones. Quality and handling were good. About the size of a minivan, the one-box shape looked smooth. But the...

Chrysler's been in crisis since at least '06, when the carmaker started taking heavy losses. Now comes the unfortunate downsizing. While they've announced they'll be expanding some engineering operations overseas, designers back home are getting the shaft: say goodbye to Chrysler's Pacifica Advance Product Design Center in California, which they've just announced they're shuttering. The rare design...

Chrysler has been short on product lately in the hot crossover market. After the Chrysler Pacifica was discontinued in November, Chrysler hasn't had the ammunition to fight competitors' models, such as the Ford Edge, Toyota RAV4 and Chevrolet Equinox.
