My GT6 project and life with a MkI 2000 (Free subscription) | 17/11/2009
Long time no update again. With the 2000 through it's MOT and a new nose cone fitted I decided it was time to move it on. I've had some good times with this car, the 2008 RBRR being one of the highlights, but it came to a point where it was being used increasingly for daily driving only and I was not getting so much fun out of it, that and the fact that with it's Witor exhaust system it is quite noisy...
In Bucharest, this billboard boasts of Hyundai Motor Service 's attention to detail. They even have a weirdo white-gloved robotic-hand carefully dusting off the BMW E60 M5 V-10 engine pictured. Oops. ( Hat tip to Shitty Mf, we're not kidding ) [ Mibz ]
The VW Golf Mk1 was good enough to be sold for 35 years, and it's not the only vehicle worthy of perpetual production. What retired car should they still make? There are so many great cars we've let pass into oblivion, put out to pasture only to be replaced by cars we like even less than the original. Because it needs to be mass-marketed and have enough safety features to survive, as well as pass...
It's said size doesn't matter, but you know that's not true. And while you might expect too small to be the issue, Nice Price or Crack Pipe has a BMW for which the seller's wife claimed the opposite. A halo car must have a presence. Whether it be in its dramatic countenance or commanding proportions. The BMW E-31 8-series had both these factors playing in its favor when it was introduced at the Frankfurt...
As part of the 25th Anniversary of the BMW M5, a few selected journalists, including our BimmerToday’s Benny Hiltscher, were invited to learn more about the M5 history. As Benny reports, the BMW M5 Touring E39 is powered by a 5.0 liter V8 engine that outputs 400 horsepower and a maximum torque of 500Nm or 368 lb-ft for those of us in the U.S. Yes that's right, an M Wagon. Many of you who bothered...
Once you start putting timelapse still cameras on cars , it's hard to stop! That's why I rigged up the CHDK -equipped BumperCam II on the dash of the ol' Civic when I headed down to SoCal on Friday night. I'd been invited to a blowout Halloween party by The Sharks (aka Very Important Peasants), veterans of several LeMons races in their Ghettocharged™ BMW E28. It sounded like as good a reason...

And in a way, it has! On Thursday, we saw the mind-boggling, hyper-cool E34 M5 Convertible that BMW stashed away for twenty long years. Today's car isn't nearly as crypto (meaning we've seen...
LeMons race #20 took place last weekend, and we saw a BMW win for the third time . That brings BMW closer to Mazda's and Toyota's five LeMons wins apiece. Let's go check out the other 122 cars now! We had our first-ever British Leyland Index Of Effluency winner (the Mr. Bean 1962 Austin Mini was built prior to the British Leyland era) and the newest entry in LeMons history (2005). It was one of the...

To the casual Bavarian-enthusiast the answer is quite simple: E39 M5. However, strong cases can be made for both the E30 M3 and the OG E28 M5, which featured the M1's...

If you would have asked our opinion, we would have told you that open top motoring means feeling the wind in your hair. NEIN! says BMW. And to prove just how far they've come in two...
