BikeRadar carried a news item yesterday about a bike-friendly iPod speaker that sits in your bottle cage (right). The idea of a bike speaker isn't new, of course – I posted about a handlebar-mounted system in May. We've heard nothing about it since. Most cyclists seem to hate the idea of bike-mounted speakers, if the comments on the BikeRadar item are a fair indication. But it did get me wondering,...

In its 20th year, the Iceman Cometh is attracting 4,000 racers. The race is more popular than ever and reflects a strong tradition of racing in the Midwestern United States. The Iceman is famous for drawing lots of spectators, too. "The Iceman is the only Midwest mountain bike race that I have ever done," said Sam Schultz (Subaru / Gary Fisher) of Montana. "I heard a lot about the huge...

Loch Ossian Youth Hostel. The eco friendly Youth Hostel at Loch Ossian is in a perfect situation, miles away from the modern world! Whilst it is fairly basic, the setting more than makes up for it. Reached by foot or by train from Rannoch Station from the South or Tulloch Station to the North, it really is a get away from it all destination. You can climb an assortment of munros, corbetts or grahams...

Very impressed with this bike . Was a bit wary at first as i knew it would involve some assembly however, despite there not being very comprehensive instructions, this was fairly straight forward to do. Finished bike looks really smart, good quality and like it will last. Seems very good value comapared to similar styles (that didnt look as nice)that i have seen in large chain retailers, all over which
