WAC : Why Not Let Don Draper Pick The National Champion?

(above : the sharpest media manipulator money can buy…in the state of Idaho) OK, that’s not actually what the Western Athletic Conference is advocating. I think. But ESPN’s Graham Watson reports the WAC has enlisted the services of Boise-based PR firm Scott Peyron & Associates to assist their efforts in promoting no. 7 Boise [...]

Why Not Keenum?

Graham Watson of ESPN.com makes a good case here. But no quarterback in the country has put up better numbers or been more clutch than Houston’s signal caller. So while everyone’s trying to dig up names of Heisman Trophy candidates, the best choice has been leading the nation statistically all year long. I’ll write it again: The [...]

UO's LaGarrette Blount goes crazy post-game in Boise

It was, to be sure, an ugly football game for the Oregon Ducks. Scoreless until late in the third quarter, with only 152 yards of total offense, the Ducks lost 19-8 to Boise State. The game, with both teams in the Top 20 nationally, was supposed to be an showcase between two innovative offenses - and it was instead, said ESPN's Graham Watson, a "comedy of errors". But a bad game wouldn't...

Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

This may be the greatest violation of the First Rule of Holes by a head coach that I’ve ever seen. (h/t Graham Watson’s Twitter feed)

Bookends

Thanks to sharp-eyed reader Karen, who found this photo on Graham Watson's site of the men who were first and last in the 2009 Tour de France general classification. Note the red towel stuck in Hutarovich' s helmet signifying the Lanterne Rouge. I thought for a moment he was carrying an electric lantern too but that's a motorcycle headlight showing under his arm.

Davis for Freedom, yeah right.

David Davis, MP for Haltemprice and Howden and doughty defender of Liberty (at least that's what his website says) has a curious lacuna. That is anything to do with the European Union. He will stand up and sit down on issues such as 42 day detention, yes. And good for him. He will go to the barricades to oppose Id cards, and so say all of us. But when it comes to the European Arrest Warrant he goes...
