French President Nicholas Sarkozy truly lives on another planet. He believes, like Ireland’s Fianna Fail, Fine Gael and Labour political establishment, that the Lisbon Treaty should be somehow repackaged and put, for a second time, to the Irish public in a “new” referendum. Sarkozy is not just disconnected from real public opinion in Ireland but even more so from the mood on the ground in his own country....
