Google is showing Feedburner redirect URLs in their search results. They’re using the link: http://feeds.latimes.com/~r/topoftheticket/~3/408704356/palin-couric.html which is a Feedburner redirect URL which they use in RSS feeds to help in tracking. Google owns Feedburner so it’s a bit embarrassing that they’re making such an obvious mistake. This might be distorting the stats for the LA Times. Feedburner...

Blogging is a fast medium, that's one of its advantages over traditional media. There are bloggers who specialize in reporting fast about breaking news on a wide variety of topics. Most of those bloggers use Google's RSS publishing technology FeedBurner as a middleman to deliver their posts to subscribers and capture analytics. If FeedBurner decides to take its sweet time in delivering the news, that's...

To help us get a better idea of the traffic to this blog, we're going to be redirecting the RSS feed through to FeedBurner. This will complement the basic statistics that we already get using Google Analytics. With luck, existing RSS subscribers will notice no change whatsoever. However, should anyone lose feed, please drop a reply to this post. Thanks.

I’ve recently moved Bwana.org’s RSS feed to utilize Google’s Adsense for Feeds program which allows advertising embeds within your RSS feed. I was reluctant at first since I didn’t want to hand over control of my feed to FeedBurner. Anyway, after I got a setup with Adsense for Feeds, I ran into [...]

I’m moving my RSS into another feedburner (rather than the former FeedBurner.com) so please, re-subscribe to my RSS: http://feedproxy.google.com/brianmadsen Reason for the change is pretty simple – FeedBurner was bought by Google and since then most of the services i used to have available to me has been closed or doesn’t work any longer (such as keeping count of my subscribers, frequently see it...

In case you didn't know, you can upgrade your Feedburner URL to feedproxy.google.com. However, some people noticed that feedproxy.google.com is actually disallowing robots.txt -- odd, huh? In fact, the problem has been breaking some feeds. Fortunately, Google has been paying...

As you probably know, a couple of weeks ago Google decided to open AdSense for feeds to all publishers, and by doing so they also started the migration of Feedburner feeds to their own servers (Google acquired Feedburner a while ago, that is why). In other words, people that wanted to start using the AdSense for feeds feature would need to apply for a migration, and get their feeds changed from feeds.feedburner.com/feedname...

Migrating FeedBurner to Google Accounts hasn't been a smooth process and the new FeedBurner doesn't look very promising. Last month, Google officially launched AdSense for Feeds and asked those who want to join the program to "burn" their feeds using FeedBurner. If you were already using FeedBurner, Google provided an email address where you could contact a Google employee to manually migrate your...

The company that made RSS famous was was bought by Google for a reported $100 million this past February. The company's co-founder here shows his true start-up mentality: doing some rapid-fire riffing on hiring, roles, revenue projections, etc.
