Years ago I tested a 300W passively-cooled power supply from Silverstone and now the firm has finally released a new passive PSU with a bit more power. AnandTech received the SilverStone ST450NF Nightjar, this model delivers up to 450W of power and is cooled by a giant heatsink. The Silverstone ST45NF Nightjar definitely raises the bar for fanless power supplies, as it delivers one of the best performances...

If assembling a system from parts, it looks better to get a somewhat larger case with a case fan, rather than a tiny case with a CPU fan. A maybe-working example of this could be: Silverstone GD02 case $160 Silverstone fanless power supply $140 An oddly-shaped heatsink apparently designed to fit in the GD02 case (advertised to run fanless for CPUs up to 65W) $50 Celeron 430 $40 DG45ID board $140 2G...

Anandtech has taken a closer look at the performance of the 1200W Zeus power supply from Silverstone: The label shows six 12V rails with an enormous combined power of 95A. However, each rail is rated at 17A, which is not too much as we will find out later during the tests. If you prefer, the 12V rails can be combined into one massive 12V rail that will deliver the 95A alone. On the side is a little...

Over the years we have looked at several power supplies from SilverStone through their Strider, Element, and Zeus series. All of these power supplies have generally performed very well and a number of them are still running strong within our test labs. SilverStone though has greater competition these days from companies like OCZ / PC Power & Cooling and Corsair. However, one of their newer power supply...

AnandTech has finished a review of the SilverStone Decathlon DA700 Super Silent power supply. This unit features a single 12V rail with 58A and should be rather silent. The power supply is quite long for a 700W unit and after opening it up we will see why this is the case. The fan is located quite close to the back, which is unusual for power supplies as now there is a big part of the power supply...

X-bit Labs has published another huge roundup, this time they checked out ten 1000W power supplies from firms like Antec, Enermax, Floston, FSP, SilverStone, Tagan, ThermalTake and Ultra. In my last article about 1000W power supplies I wrote that a modern PC could be actually satisfied with much less power. A configuration with a quad-core CPU and a couple of top-end graphics cards would consume no...

AnandTech has reviewed eight 1000W power supplies from firms like Akasa, Antec, Enermax, Kingwin, OCZ, SilverStone, ThermalTake and Ultra. We recently published a major roundup of several high-end power supplies. As stated previously, such power supplies are already more than what most people will need, but for those looking to push extreme overclocking to new levels you might still need more power....

A couple of months ago I reviewed the DA750 power supply from SilverStone and today the firm informed me they've released a new 650W power supply in their Decathlon series. The DA650 features a single +12V rail which can provide a max current of 54A and uses a modular cable system. SilverStone says the PSU has an efficiency greater than 80% and that it has a quiet 120mm fan. The DA650 features single...
