NEC have taken the wraps off of the MultiSync EA261WM , a 26-inch desktop LCD monitor with WUXGA resolution. The NEC MultiSync is far and away the best 30in monitor I've even had on my desk. The image quality is first rate, with supremely wide viewing angles that show what an S-IPS panel is capable of (take note Dell). NEC's new 30-inch LCD monitor targets graphics professionals but the LCD3090WQXi has multimedia features, too, for well-heeled gamers. It's one of a half-dozen 30-inchers with 2560 x 1600 resolution doing battle against slightly smaller, considerably cheaper 24-inch displays.

NEC has announced its new 30-inch MultiSync LCD3090 monitor, designed with graphic designers, photographers, and CAD/CAM users in mind. The widescreen monitor features a four megapixel (2,560 x 1,600) wide gamut LCD, and offers premium colour performance (which has been a problem on LCD monitors in the past, and is why many designers have stuck with traditional CRT monitors).
