This week's column is up at LowEndMac. With the pending Official Obsolescence of PowerPC Macs, what's an old Mac junkie to do? Part of me wants to sell a kidney to buy a used Intel Mac Mini , and part of me wants to upgrade my current G4 Sawtooth to a faster CPU and a full 2GB of RAM, and part of me says that if I save my pennies carefully I might be able to afford a used TiBook and an iLamp (which...

I have the disks for the mac mini, and a fire wire cable and was wondering how do I install leopard on the un-supported G4 with some assistance of the mini.

I just realized that I have four devices capable of doing the same things in our entertainment system, given that I put an UPNP emulator on the Mac: the MacMini, DirectTV box, receiver and the Sonos. Which to use? Its funny, they all do things with relative wellness and poorness.

I wonder what the actual watts per hour are. I know the Mac Mini does around 17. My current Dell 400SC does between 75 and 160 (ouch!). One thing to note, those look like Half Height slots. That isn't stated in the specs anywhere, but I'm guessing...
