Having some experience in non-profit, my experience leads me to understand that people can make direct donations to DBC as long as DBC is officially and declared as affiliated with a parent organization that has 501c3 status. The National Cued Speech Association has the same set up with its chapters/affiliates in which these organizations can raise money on their own for their own purposes...

Mike - Good to see this! CS hs been very muched the under used. Git a nice quote from a frined today regarding CS. May I, please.... "Cued Speech is not just a code. It is deeper phonologically than that. It is integrated into the cortex, where speech perception, reading and writing take place. We now understand that phonology can be built by several different modalities." - Jacqueline

When cued speech works. I specifically choose these videos because they came with subtitles so that everybody can have the opportunity to understand what is being said in those videos. Subtitles are in short supply in many videos whether geared toward hearing, deaf, hard of hearing or Deaf viewers. Enjoy these videos and learn more about cueing. No attacking, please.

Cued Speech is a wonderful tool that is made available for the others just as much as tactile is made available for the DeafBlind. I would rather see communication methods and tools being put to good use than see others bash a communication tool because it just doesn't "look good on stage" or it supposedly hinders learning capabilities. Thank you Mike for posting subtitled videos. Tacti

I am appalled!!! Cued Speech actually failed many Deaf children and Cued Speech was initially for HEARING parents so that they can communicate with their Deaf children when they SHOULD be learning ASL - the language of the Deaf children! Why is it always about spoken language that we, Deaf people must accomodate!? I appreciate you giving this information but to encourage the value of Cued Speech i...

Many Deaf are blind to what really goes on in the real world of deaf people. Take for example, at a federal leadership training conference, there were ASL interpreters, SEE interpreters, Cued Speech Interpreters, deaf-blind interpreter, CART services and Oral interpreters, in addition to FM services. It was amazing to see ALL these services provided for such diverse deaf federal employees. That...

At the coference this weekend we will have a voice interpreter. If anyone has any issues, they should E-mail DR and/or me personally prior to the conference. I will then try my best to accomodate their needs. I believe we are going by demand...if there are actually some cued speech folks who need a CS interpreter, then we will be more than happy to add one. I agree that in the future, the co...

Should have mentioned above that my daughter is no longer interpreting cued speech...she is an ASL (quite good too, Mom is beaming) interpreter and works as itenerant teacher for deaf/hh kids in mainstreamed program.
