Q: I am a healthy 55-year- old man. My cholesterol runs a little high, but I don't smoke, my blood pressure is normal, and I eat well and exercise regularly. I don't have any family history of heart disease. I recently heard that statin drugs can prevent Alzheimer's disease. My mother developed Alzheimer's 2 years ago. I'm wondering if I should start taking a statin. What do you think?
