The pinnacle age of water racers has come and gone. Earlier this generation, you had Wave Race: Blue Storm, Splashdown (and its subsequent sequel) and several other games all simultaneously vying for the same market share. These days, however, fans of this fallen racing subgenre are lucky to have a new release come along every six months. Carve, arriving from Argonaut Games and Global Star Software, is the latest release in the stagnant genre, and while it doesn't set the genre on fire, it's an undeniably enjoyable racer. Even though Carve's marketed at a budget level price, don't let that fool you; Argonaut Games has done their homework both in terms of gameplay and visual prowess. The Xbox hardware shines nicely in Carve, effortlessly powering an unpredictable environment where thrashing waves and riders are constantly crashing down on the player from different angles at a rock solid,
