Projectors: Buying guide

In this article, you will get information about projectors and the key factors that you should look for, when buying one. This article is a perfect buying guide for people who are confused between several type of projectors available (PC projectors, home movie projectors or small projectors) in the market.

Description

It does not matter whether you have a living room or a conference hall, the demand for projectors have increased with time. Projectors have become an essential medium of presentation, both for official and educational purposes.

Here are certain tips and considerations that may be essential for different users in order for them to select the perfect projector:

Brightness

Brightness is one of the key factors that you have to keep in mind while buying a projector because if you are buying portable projector then, it has to produce sharp images, according to the brightness of the room.

The projector has to be at least 1000 lumens bright, so it can adjust the image as per the colour of your room. Arranging a good screen projector is a good option, because walls are not good reflectors of light.

Resolution

Choosing a perfect resolution depends on the type of presentation, you want to conduct.
For example, if your presentations mostly include power point slides and pictures then, SVGA projector with a resolution of 800x600 would be the best one.

If your presentations include the display of small texts and details, then a XGA projector with a resolution of 1024x768 will be the best for the job.

To achieve best performance out of a projector, you have to make sure that resolution of projector and the notebook are same.

Keystone correction

It is very difficult to adjust a projector to the centre of the screen, and as a result, you will receive distorted images. You should look for a projector with Keystone Correction feature, so that you receive clear images without worrying about the position of the projector in your room.

Zoom lens

Many a times when you try to enlarge a small image on the projector, the picture blurs because of the poor zooming ability of the lens. Most of the portable projector consists of a lens with a 1.2x ratings that offer 20 percent maximum magnification.

These above-mentioned features will assist you in selecting the correct projector without wasting much time. Therefore, ensure that you consider all these aspects, before buying one.
