Gloves: Buying Guide

Hands are the most precious and vital part of the body, used in almost every activity we perform. Without using them, we’ll not be able to carry out a single task, hence we should understand their significance in our life and should carry out proper care and maintenance of the hands to protect them from any unforeseen damage.

The market is flooded with different variety of gloves that can be chosen according to the nature of work that is carried out, whether it's bliss glamour gloves or clean-room gloves.

The biggest challenge is to choose the most appropriate gloves for the intended task or situation and to use it in the best of manner to ensure complete protection of the hands.

Use
Gloves are used to provide protection to hands while carrying out several applications that might cause harm to hands, such as asbestos glove. Thus, gloves are usually selected based upon the applications for which it is to be used - different types of gloves will be used for different applications. However, gloves made up of the following three material are quite common.

Criteria
Choosing the correct glove is quite difficult.

Flexibility, style and fit
Particular attention should be given to features like flexibility, fit and style as without these features, the gloves become difficult to use. The gloves should allow the wearer to feel comfortable and unrestricted as far as possible.

Biodegradable and environment friendly gloves
One should buy biodegradable and environment friendly gloves so that they can be easily disposed off.

High tensile strength and elasticity
Gloves with high tensile strength and elasticity will not easily get destroyed while performing any activity.

Natural rubber latex gloves
These are usually used in the medical field, are disposable and have excellent barrier properties against viral transmission. They also have high resistance to tears and punctures and possess high tensile strength and elasticity.

Vinyl gloves
This protein free glove has good resistance to light and ozone. However, is less preferred due to certain non-biodegradable features that makes them non environment friendly.

Nitrile gloves
These gloves are also protein free and have good resistance to oil and grease. It is preferable to use them while doing oil and grease work in order to protect the hands from these harsh chemicals.

Non-biodegradable gloves
Most of the gloves available in the market are not biodegradable and cannot be considered as environment friendly.
