Digital TV & Satellite Receivers

Digital TV & satellite receivers: Buying Guide

In the next few years, more places will be provided with digital TV, completely eliminating the analog TV. Digital TV will provide the user with more channel choices and better image quality. There is no need for worry over this new technology because with some information and guides, this switchover will not be a headache for you.

Size
The first thing you need to look for before buying is choose the right size and aspect ratio of your TV. The size of TV is important so that it will suits your living room well - you don’t need a 30 inch TV if you are planning to install it in front of your bed.

Aspect ratio
For the aspect ratio, there are two options out there, which are 16:9 or 4:3. If you are planning to buy an HD digital TV, the aspect ratio of 16:9 is better for a wide-screen view.

Image quality
There are three types of image quality available for digital TV which is standard, enhanced and high definition. Each image quality provides a different resolution and will need different type of TV. For more realistic view, a high definition TV would be more suitable.

Style of the digital TV
After you have confirmed your choice, now you can select the TV style. Some examples of TV style will be flat pane, rear projection, direct view or front projection. Choose your TV style based on your budget and technologies that you want.

Availability of output connections
Finally, the digital TV also should have several video and audio output connections so that you can plug-in to your home theater system for great audio experience.

You could get a built in satellite receiver with your TV or external satellite receiver to view the digital TV. Both come with the same number of channels but the main difference will be the installation, where you might get disappointed trying to tune the external satellite receiver,

Final word
I would recommend you to buy a TV with a built-in satellite receiver. With some additional online research and more brands comparison, you could get a great deal when buying a new TV.
