In the UK: Thursdays, 10pm, E4. Starts November 12 Stick around lads and lasses because this is a very special preview. Not only is there going to be a competition at the end of this, there's also going to be the very first "not great quality" The Medium is Not Enough podcast involving me (and my not very dulcet tones), some other journalists and the creator of E4's Misfits Howard Overman....

EDITOR'S NOTE: Because of the high posting volume and the quantity of information linked in each newsletter, who_daily...
Skins, Inbetweeners - and now Misfits. E4 is producing some brilliant drama. So why can't BBC3 do the same? On Thursday night E4's latest bit of homegrown programming, Asbo sci-fi drama Misfits, debuts on Channel 4's yoof channel. The premise sounds ridiculous – a load of grotty kids doing community service get hit by an electrical storm and obtain superpowers (think Heroes meets Vicky Pollard)...

I am, and have always been, a very great fan of the BBC. I watch many of their excellent dramas and documentaries, I love to watch films without finding myself becoming increasingly irritated by advert breaks every ten minutes and most of all I adore their excellent nature programmes. If they could wrestle The Simpsons back from Channel 4 (where every show is interrupted by adverts before the story...
So yeah, I went to see this tonight. I'm currently on the minibus back to Trent. Oh, if you're doing a live review on it next week, I would advise not reading the rest of this blog. It was amazing. Act two was so much better than act one. I feel so sorry for the couple who sat next to me who left in the interval. The first act focused on the plight of this woman who had adopted a baby that wasn't hers...
For all its far-fetched plots and ludicrously good-looking characters, Spooks makes consistently good viewing With perhaps a little less fanfare than usual, but no less crash-bang-wallop once the titles roll, Spooks returns to BBC1 tonight, allowing viewers a glimpse of the impossibly good-looking MI5 officers who are apparently single-handedly keeping the country safe from the clutches of evil terrorists....
Russell Howard's a busy man; he's a regular on the Mock the Week panel, he's just launched his very own BBC comedy show and now he's releasing a stand up DVD, which is due out on Monday, November 9th. He's clearly a much demanded man, and if you have a penchant for him too then this is the competition for you: We're giving four lucky entrants the chance to win their very own copy of his Dingledodies...

Just in time for Halloween, Syfy announced today that it's going to produce a U.S. remake of the BBC horror/drama/comedy, Being Human . That's not the scary part. The disturbing question is why are we still seeing American rehashes of British shows when the Brit productions are readily available and securely on the global pop culture radar? Why waste the time, effort and money? In this case, the original...
Press Association's proposed public service reporting initiative would cost £15m to £18m a year and require 500 to 800 reporters if rolled out nationwide, according to the wire's own estimates. "That's a lot of new money to bring in to the public spending round but, in terms of the BBC, it's three Jonathan Rosses," PA's training head Tony Johnston told a Digital Editors Network...
When I first heard about BBC Three's Being Human , I was immediately intrigued. The premise is pretty simple, a werewolf and a vampire move in with a ghost in an apartment, and all three try to live their lives as normal as possible. Now I'm even more excited to see that Syfy has ordered 13 episodes of an American version
Note to the Reader: I do have non-TV/non-Entertainment posts in the works, but sadly, I can't seem to get them to the publish point. Really don't just want to harp on TV stuff...but, c'est la vie , it'll have to do for now. The Powers That Be over at Syfy are still carrying a grudge over that whole era characterized by The Stamp Act, Taxation Without Representation, Lexington/Concord, etc. (only explanation...
