I want to say that Tokyo popster Shugo Tokumaru reminds me a little of Jon Brion, Michael Penn, Lindsey Buckingham, Velvet Crush, The Hollies and Sufjan at his most playful and inventive. I'll stop short at using the genius word, however on Tokumaru's new (and third) album Exit he's definitely tapping in to some whimsical, crazy colorful pop vision that's as adorable a Teletubby and mischievously melodic....
