Week 11 proved to be a consensus week for most participants with the Thursday and Monday games being the "swing" games. Bezekira and Red Reign went into Monday 7-0 but Kris Brown's inability to kick field goals gave Bezekira the second "perfect" week in Pick'em history and the full Week Won Point. SenSurround's seven correct gets him into the lead with Bezekira and Drullin'OverDaCards...
We're growing closer and closer to see who becomes the last survivor with three remaining members. If KDean75 wants to win, he'll need the other two to be eliminated first since he is one game behind. After betting on the Bengals last week, manphibian may have jinxed himself when he declared that he could win the league this week because of the other three members all picking the Jaguars. The results...
Here's Robert performing the classic song Robot which appeared on the 1979 Hawkwind album PXR5. THis would be the last Hawkwind album he appeared on (apart from the interminable compilation releases and abysmal crap like Bring m the Head of Yuri Gagarin of course). Shame the sound quality is poor.

some of this sounds like it was made for the basement. some of this sounds like it was made for the porch. which is to say, dawn of the golden eternity glues together some burnt-out bedroom psyche malarkey with fahey primitive string flicking. which is to say, while not particularly new i just got a [...]
City Hall, Newcastle "We've been waiting for this tour to happen for 100 years," begins the Damned's Captain Sensible, explaining this inspired pairing of two of British rock's most venerable – and notorious – institutions. When they first met in a studio in the 1970s there was an almighty punch-up. "Not between us and them," the guitarist says. "But between Motörhead...

I’ve been reading bits and pieces from the current Marvel Comics story-arc ‘event’, Dark Reign , wherein various ‘Dark’ versions of characters and teams have been enjoying their own mini-series, and it struck me on listening to this album by Los Angeles quintet Ancestors, that there’s a useful way to describe their music inherent in Marvel’s titles. Bear with...
Ryan at WMSE introduced me to The Woes during our 26th podcast. The band is aptly described as “a stew of Delta blues and early Country, of bluegrass and New Orleans marching band music, dished out by banjo, harmonica, accordion, French Horn and organ.” The culmination of all these sounds and influences cultivates [...]

Hunting season is over. Starting this week and running through Week 15 there will be Thursday games on the schedule; to qualify for that week's Pick'em all eight games have to be picked before kick-off of that Thursday game (or the Friday game in the case of Week 16's schedule, a mandatory pick week). You're welcome to change your picks later in the week as breaking news happens, but your last pick...
First let me start off by saying that the crop has become a little smaller when Tim V(who took a gamble) and Hevchv were eliminated this week. As the stat sheet shows, stay away from the Texans and Packers. They've both combined to eliminate 46% of the members(ouch!). As far as the current status of the league, we're now at the point that if any noobs do join, they won't be able to build a streak longer...
May I solicit your views about the artistic performance most deserving of an award this weekend? The contenders are: The elegant and poetic Martin Castrogiovanni, who epitomises grace and subtlety. The multitalented Henry. You will all know his dear mother Melissa from her association with dear old Bozza. Henry is the 8th of her seventeen children, and has already made it into the national spotlight....
I'm aware I've been a bit slack at posting in the last few months. Life gets in the way of these things from time to time.... I doubt I'll be posting anywhere near as much as I used to, but will try and drop up some bits on a (slightly) more regular basis. If anybody wants to contribute any records to the blog feel free to drop me a line. I've been somewhat immersed in music of Cornwall of late, partly...
